About Sally Berg

Founder of Mature Eros

devoted embodiment guide, mother, lover of life and best-kept-secret mentor for mature feminine leaders.

My Awakening

Twenty years ago, I was in the grip of a five-year depression.

I was exhausted from holding everything together — family, career, responsibility — while navigating my own healing from childhood trauma. I was close to burnout and, although I didn't know it at the time, entering perimenopause.

Then one day, I walked into a restaurant and saw a woman who changed the trajectory of my life.

She was radiant.

Alive.

Lit from within.

I couldn't take my eyes off her.

Eventually, I gathered the courage to walk over and ask her a very simple question:

“How are you so luminous?”

She was renowned Tantra & embodiment teacher Shakti Malan.

I signed up to work with her almost on the spot.

I wanted some of what she had.

That encounter became the beginning of a twenty-year journey back to myself — through healing, embodiment, nervous-system work, Tantric practice and a profound rediscovery of my own body, pleasure and aliveness.

Slowly, I began reclaiming parts of myself I had thought were lost forever.

My body.
My pleasure.
My voice.
My sensuality.
My aliveness.

The practices and philosophy that changed my own relationship with myself continued to deepen and evolve over the years — and today, they form part of the living roots of Mature Eros.

And perhaps there is something beautifully full-circle about that story.

Twenty years ago, I saw a woman who showed me another way of being.

At sixty, I want to be that possibility for other women.

Not an image of eternal youth.

But living proof that a woman can grow older and become more embodied, more radiant, more sensual, more powerful and more alive.

I don't want to be younger. I want to be more alive.

My Path & Passion

Before Mature Eros, my world was fashion, creativity and image.

I spent 15 years in London as a Senior Fashion Editor and Art Director, working across some of the world's most influential publications, including ELLE, Marie Claire, Glamour and The Independent, alongside luxury fashion brands, leading designers, photographers, models and celebrities.

It was a fast-paced, highly creative world that taught me much about women, identity, aspiration and the power of how we are seen.

I later spent 20 years co-running Resolution Productions, a successful photography production company creating imagery for Getty Images, before bringing my eye back to women through my own photography portraiture work — capturing women in a way that allows them to feel fully seen.

But alongside this professional life, another journey was unfolding.

For more than 15 years I have immersed myself in women's healing, embodiment and personal transformation — training in sacred feminine facilitation, trauma- and nervous-system-informed practice, supporting women's retreats and creating intimate workshops and spaces for women to reconnect with themselves.

My work today brings those worlds together:

A lifelong fascination with women and identity.
A deep understanding of image and visibility.
Years of entrepreneurship and lived experience.
And a devotion to embodiment, pleasure, healing and what it means to become more fully ourselves as we age.

This is the ground from which Mature Eros was born.

My Legacy of Love

My work has never been only about individual transformation.

During the 20 years I lived in South Africa, I became deeply involved in community-led initiatives supporting women, children and families — co-founding South Peninsula for Peace, establishing a Steiner crèche in a local township, helping create soup kitchens serving thousands of meals, and founding Grow Our Valley, a nonprofit supporting women to create sustainable livelihoods through micro-businesses, circles and retreats.

Those years shaped something I still believe deeply:

Personal transformation and collective change belong together.

When a woman becomes more resourced, more connected to herself and more able to inhabit her own power, the impact rarely stops with her.

It ripples into her relationships, her family, her community, the way she leads — and the legacy she creates.

Today, that belief sits at the heart of Mature Eros and my growing devotion to female eldership.

I believe pleasure is power.

I believe ageing is an initiation — not into invisibility, but into deeper wisdom, truth and embodied aliveness.

And I believe the world needs mature women who are willing to bring everything they have lived and learned back into the world.

We rise together.
